Jane Hirshfield’s most recent poetry book is The Beauty, long-listed for the 2015 National Book Award. She is also the author of two now-classic books of essays, Nine Gates and Ten Windows. Her work appears in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Poetry, and eight editions of The Best American Poems. A former chancellor of The Academy of American Poets, she has long been engaged with eco-poetics, science, interconnection, and issues of social justice.
