Turk & Divis (pronounced Diviz) is an artistic collaboration between brothers Evan and Miles Karp. From Savannah, Georgia, they’ve performed widely up the East Coast (mostly as Miles’ previous Athens-based band The Suex Effect) and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area (in conjunction with Evan’s literary nonprofit Quiet Lightning, mostly, but also at the Center for New Music, the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, California College of the Arts, Los Altos High School, Ale Industries and The Booksmith). Their first album, Live @ Lone Glen (2017), was an early gig-inspired playlist, and their second album Quiet Lightning (2018) is a series of original scores set to 50 authors performing original writing in Bay Area bars, cultural and transit centers, and at the top of Mount Tamalpais. In 2021 they founded ArnBarn Studio, a recording and production center near Savannah. Their first ArnBarn release was the EP Battles in 2023. Back to You is a set of live improvisations recorded at Fantasy Studios in 2018 and produced in the ArnBarn 2024-25.
